About Brussels-Central
Brussels-Central (Gare Centrale, Centraal Station) is the most central of the three main Brussels rail stations. It is built underground in the historic lower town, just a few minutes' walk from the Grand Place, the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, the Brussels Cathedral and the Royal Quarter. Most domestic Belgian intercity trains call at Brussels-Central, alongside the airport rail link to Brussels Airport, and it is one of the busiest stations in the country.
The station has two main exits, onto Carrefour de l'Europe / Boulevard de l'Impératrice and toward the cathedral side. The taxi rank is at street level, but during peak times it can be congested or empty. Pre-booking a TaxiGo means a driver is waiting at a defined point with your name and the price already fixed.
From Brussels-Central, the most common rides are short hops within the city centre: to hotels around the Grand Place and Sablon, to the European Quarter and the EU institutions, to the Royal Palace, and across to Brussels-Midi for high-speed train connections. Longer rides to Brussels Airport take about 25 to 30 minutes by road, depending on traffic on the inner ring; rides to Charleroi Airport take around an hour. The fleet covers standard cars, larger vans for groups or extra luggage, and luxury vehicles for business travel.
Every ride is fixed-price and shown before you confirm. There are no extra fees for waiting at the station, for late-night pickups, or for weekends. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup is included, and you can change the pickup time inside the booking if your train is delayed.
